Bonus fact: Demand for “specialty” pumpkins is on the rise, including the giant Big Mack, carriage-shaped Cinderella and lumpy Knucklehead.
The number of kids treated for stroller/carrier injuries in emergency departments every hour. A recent National Children’s Hospital study dug into 21 years’ worth of data. Of the 360,000 injured kids, most (nearly 55 percent) were under age 1. Accidents happened when tykes fell from strollers or tipped out of carriers.
Age kids can wear makeup – and we’re not talking Halloween face paint here. That’s what parents said in a Harris Poll (teens feel 13 is fine). Other “firsts”: 10 for allowance, 11 for sleepovers, 12 for the “sex talk,” 13 1/2 to stay home alone, 14 for cellphones, 15 to kiss – and 16 1/2 for an R-rated film (close enough, eh?).
