Explore Careers in Manufacturing and Technology Event at Macomb Community College

Parents and students in grades 6-12 can come learn about the high-demand job opportunities from industry leaders.

STEAM trades such as manufacturing, robotics, auto design and technology are in high demand right now. If your son our daughter is in grades 6-12 and is interested in those fields and may be considering a future in them, register today for the event to learn more about them.

This free event is happening at the Sports and Expo Center on Macomb Community College’s South Campus on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Although registration is recommended, it is not required and walk-ins will be welcomed.

“The event explores careers in manufacturing and technology,” says Sean M. Patrick, Media Relations Manager for Macomb Community College. “It gives students hands on experience and one-on-one time with the vendors coming out to the event.”

Why you should attend this career event

Students and their parents/guardians can meet local businesses and employers who are hiring and learn about job skills that are in high demand right now. They will also learn about internships, work-based learning and apprenticeship programs.

“For those students that have an interest in STEAM careers, it will help them to make connections and also hear about how to get an apprenticeship,” says Patrick.

Students will learn about apprenticeship programs, including the Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus (MAP+), which is a partnership between Macomb Community College and high schools to help make the process of manufacturing training easier.

This event offers students a unique opportunity to see what STEAM careers are out there.

“Parents and their children are invited to come on out and have a good time at this event and help figure out their futures,” he says.

Be sure to check out this event to find out more information. There will also be free concessions (until supplies last) and a chance for five lucky K-12 students to win a $500 Visa gift card.
