Michigan is a prime spot for picking —  and we’re talking about more than just apples in fall. In fact, summertime is ideal for picking strawberries, cherries or raspberries, to name a few. And in Macomb County, there are plenty of u-pick farms for you and your family to go pick your own.

When it comes to the best times to pick berries in Michigan, mid-June is a great time for strawberry picking, followed by raspberry season, which takes place from July through September.

So this summer, why not stop by one of these u-pick farms in Macomb County to grab your own?

Altermatt Farms, LLC.

Since 1960, this family owned and operated business has been offering freshly picked strawberries and other products to customers. Stop by to snag some strawberries this season.

Blake Farms

Since 1946, Blake’s has been offering visitors the chance to pick everything from apples to strawberries. In June, stop by to pick strawberries with your family, then visit in July for cherries and raspberries. Raspberries are also available to pick in August.

Blake’s Big Apple – part of Blake Farms – also offers the chance for families to pick their in-season fruit. Stop by for strawberries in June. 

Stoney Creek Orchard & Cider Mill

This family-owned and operated orchard has been around since 1939 and fresh raspberries for picking in the summer months, along with apples in the fall. 

Verellen Orchards

Open since 1920, this Macomb County farm has been serving up quality produce to customers year-round. Strawberries are ready for pickup, but be sure to call ahead for exact times.

Westview Orchards

Stop by this orchard, which was founded in 1813, to pick strawberries in June and raspberries in July and August. U-pick opportunities are offered to visitors daily while available – and weather permitting.
