Meet Kenyon, Metro Parent July 2013 CoverKid – VIDEO

Let’s get one thing straight: Kenyon, the kid on the July 2013 cover of Metro Parent magazine, does not, in fact, have a broken arm. This bombastic Belleville 8-year-old does, however, have charm to spare – complete with a flair for fancy footwork and masterfully wiggly eyebrows to match. Stylish and super camera-friendly, Kenyon was the “poster boy” for our cover story, “The 411 on 911” – all about preparing for a child emergency during the summer (which is prime season for accidents).

Why not check out Kenyon’s killer dance moves for yourself? Our Q&A video also captures his goofy personality, penchant for action-packed movies – and a bit of fuzzy (but classic-kid funny) math when it comes to roller coaster height (but really, when you’re on one of those awesome thrill rides, who’s counting?). Check out how we crafted his convincing yellow cast, too:

Interested in your kid being on the cover of Metro Parent magazine? Check out the Metro Parent CoverKids page! You’ll learn all about how you can submit your kid’s photo online for a shot at one of 10 top spots (the contest happens once a year). Natural self-confidence, poise and personality are what it takes (as you can see with Kenyon). We hope you’ll get your kids involved with the next CoverKids. You never know: They might wind up in the spotlight, too.

And you get a voice, too: Runners-up from this year’s contest will soon be competing to be the 2013 Readers Choice winner. Voting takes place at MetroParent.com beginning Aug. 1, 2013, and all winners are announced in the September 2013 issue. The 2013 competition is sponsored by MESP.
