Meet Talia, Metro Parent May 2014 CoverKid – VIDEO

Tablets, smartphones, TVs, video games: Screens are everywhere! But don’t let looks deceive you. CoverKid, Talia, 6, of Harrison Township may look completely zoned out in front of the tube on the cover of the May 2014 Metro Parent, which touts our story about three southeast Michigan families who took a week-long challenge to “unplug” from the screens in their homes. But this animated Macomb County kid thinks she could survive the challenge herself – thanks to her “humungous cabinet” full of paper, crayons and other art supplies. Oh, and her Legos. And dress-up. And tea parties!

Get a load of this little girl’s many behind-the-camera talents, including goofy faces, a winning smile and pitch-perfect rendition of “For the First Time in Forever” from Disney’s hit Frozen movie.

You can meet all of our CoverKids winners for 2013, including those who were announced in September 2013 and will be appearing on our magazine covers into 2014.

Interested in your kid being on the cover of Metro Parent magazine? Keep checking the Metro Parent CoverKids page. The entry window for 2014-15 is now closed, but we’ll be looking for cute kids for our 2015-16 covers around spring of 2015. Natural self-confidence, poise and personality are what it takes – as you can see with Talia. You never know: Your kid might wind up in the spotlight, too!
