Holiday break is approaching fast. While most kids look forward to a couple weeks with no homework, the time off can be tricky for parents who still need to go about their regular work routines between the holidays.
If you need child care during the break — or maybe just want your kids to beat cabin fever — there are fortunately plenty of local places gearing up for some super-fun day camps to help keep kids occupied.
Here are some of the holiday break day camps for 2021-22 we found happening in metro Detroit and beyond.

Berkley Parks and Recreation

The camp is for grades K-8. It is open to residents or non-residents, but pre-registration is required. Campers should dress for the weather and bring their own lunch. There will be field trips and activities planned each day of the camp. The dates are Dec. 20-23, 2021, and Dec. 28-30, 2021.The cost for residents is $123 and non-residents is $132.
Beverly Hills Club

Kids ages 5-12 are welcome to take part in fun, safe and supervised camps offering swimming, crafts, activities and more. The camp is offered Dec. 22-23, 27-30, 2021, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The price of the camp is based on the number of days you’re attending. For two days it’s $130/member and $150/non-member. For four days it’s $188/member and $215/non-member. For six days it’s $265/member and $300/non-member. You must register by Monday, Dec. 20, 2021.
Detroit City Football Club

Kids aged 9-14 practice their soccer skills with Detroit’s professional football club. Options for recreational and competitive levels are available. Runs 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 27-30, 2021. $150/child.
Farmington Hills Community Center – The Hawk

Their February Break Camp includes games, arts and crafts, swimming and special activities for ages 6-11. Offered 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 21-25, 2022. Cost is $205 for residents, $215 for non-residents.
Franklin Athletic Club

The mid-winter break camp is offered 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 20-21, 2022, and features swimming, games and more for kids ages 3-12. It’s $75/member, $85/non-member and $6 for a pizza lunch. There is also before and after-care available for $8/member and $15/non-member. Check website for other camp dates in January, March and April.
Friendship Circle

Offers fun day camps for children with special needs. The holiday camp takes place from Sunday, Dec. 19 through Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. The cost is $100/day and will take campers on different field trips around Metro Detroit. Their mid-winter break camp takes place Sunday, Feb. 20 through Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. The cost of the camp is $100/day and siblings are invited to participate in the winter fun, which includes building a snowman, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying a field trip. Grand Maple Farm

The Holiday Camps take place Dec. 20-23 and 27-30, 2021 for ages 9-12 (or with approval). It is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and will off horseback riding, grooming and horse care. There will also be plenty of winter-themed activities at this camp including cookie-making, games, scavenger hunts, hot cocoa and smores, crafts and more. Campers must bring their own lunch and dress for the weather. The cost is $375 cash or check or $386.20 online registration. Space is limited for drop-ins, but the cost for that is $115 cash or check or $118.75 online registration.
High Velocity Sports

School Break Camps include sport stations, movies, board games and more. For ages 5-13. The holiday break camp takes place Dec. 20-23, 27-30, 2021, from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Lunch options will be available to purchase. The cost is $5/hour and parents can drop off and pick up around your schedule.
Humane Society of Huron Valley

Camp Paws is designed for ages 6-11 and allows campers to visit and learn about adoptable animals each day. They will enjoy presentations for local rescue organizations and learn about different topics depending on their age group. Past topics have been wildlife conservation, pet photography, animal communication and bird identification. The camp day runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and after-care will be available for an hour for an additional fee. The dates of the camp are Dec. 27-31, 2021. Campers will bring their own lunch. Pittsfield Township Community Center

Offers indoor and outdoor activities to keep your kids busy this holiday season. There will also be movies, crafts and music at this camp to keep them entertained. Space is limited to 40 campers per day. For ages 5-11. The winter break kids camp is offered for daily and weekly slots. The dates are Dec. 20-23, 2021, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $150/resident and $155/non-resident for the week and $45/resident and $50/non-resident for the day.
Saline Rec Center

For ages 5-12. Can register for single days or a week. The dates are Dec. 20-31, 2021. Camp hours is 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The cost is $65/day for single days or $240/week. Pay full price for one child and receive $15 off for additional sibling.
Stars and Stripes Kids Activity Center

The Winter Recess Camp takes place Dec. 28-30. 2021. It’s for ages 5-12 and will offer inflatables, outside play time, forts, arts and crafts, hide and seek in the dark, snowman building and more. The cost is $33/half day and $68/full day.

The Frozen & Friends Fairytale Dance Camp takes place Dec. 20-22, 2021, from 9 a.m.-noon each day. It’s great for ages 4-9. There will be princess-themed games and crafts, dress up, dancing and hanging out with Elsa and her fairytale friends. Must bring a snack and water bottle. The camp is $120.

This winter break camp takes place Dec. 26-27, 2021, and Jan. 2-3, 2022, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $50/day or $30/half day. The camp activities are bounce house, capture the flag, knockerball, archery tag, soccer darts and much more. For ages 6-12.

Winter holiday break camps featuring gymnastics, trampolines and other fun activities are offered Dec. 20-23 and 27-30, 2021. Half days and full days are available for ages 4-12. YMCA
