Spring Break Camps for Metro Detroit Kids

Looking to keep your kiddos occupied during their break from school? Try these camps in southeast Michigan.

If you’re planning on staying home for spring break, but still want your kids to have a good time, then check out these camps in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Every child has different hobbies and interests, so you can find a camp that best fits them personally. You must register ahead of time for the spring break camps. Since they’re filling up fast, make sure to do it as soon as possible! 

2024 Spring Break Camps at Leslie Science & Nature Center

March 25-29, 2024 

These camps are for children in kindergarten through grade five. Register for each day separately. The theme for March 25 is Grossology; March 26 is Burrows, Webs, Nests; March 27 is Dream Green; March 28 is Into the Woods; and March 29 is Nature of Sound & Music.  

Camp Clay: Ages 6-8 at the Hawk Community Center

March 25-29, 2024

Ages 6-8 will make tiles, pinch pots and more along with learning the fundamentals of ceramics. Campers will be notified once their work is ready for pickup after it gets fired in the kilns.  

Camp Creative: Ages 9-12 at the Hawk Community Center

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 9-12 will explore many different themes, projects and media, including printmaking, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and more.

CCS Spring Break Camp at Taubman Center for Design Education

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 8-11 can work on a variety of art projects in 2D and 3D such as drawing, sculpture, painting, printmaking and more. All supplies are included.

Gem-Tastic Camp at Kidcreate Studio

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 4-9 will create works of art using glittery gems such as clay cakes, a collage and a gem-covered crown out of clay.

Mess to the Max! Camp at Kidcreate Studio

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 4-9 will get messy by painting with plaster, making papier mache puppies, sculpting with gooey gunk and flinging paint at this summer camp.

Michigan Academy of Gymnastics Spring Break Camp in Ann Arbor

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 5-12 can participate in gymnastics fun, crafts, games and more.

Michigan Academy of Gymnastics Spring Break Camp in Garden City

March 25-28, 2024 

Ages 5-12 can participate in gymnastics fun, crafts, games and more.

Michigan Academy of Gymnastics Spring Break Camp in Westland

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 5-12 can participate in gymnastics fun, crafts, games and more.

Spring Break Camp at Beverly Hills Club

March 25-29, 2024 

Choose from a three-day option or five-day option for this spring break camp. For ages 5-12.

Spring Break Camp at Detroit City Fieldhouse

March 25-28, 2024

Boys and girls ages 8-14 can come out to DCF for small-sided games and technical skills. Space is limited so make sure you register fast!

Spring Break Camps at iCode Troy

March 25-29, 2024

Animation Creation: Exploring Today’s Digital Tools: Ages 7-13 can explore the methods used to make Pixar, DreamWorks and Walt Disney animations and apply them to their own animations.

Roblox Editor: Create & Code Your World – Half Day Camp: Ages 7-12 will learn how to use The Roblox Editor and will help turn the game they love into an educational adventure.

To Infinity, and Beyond: Engineering Journey through Space – Half Day: Ages 7-12 can enjoy hands-on activities such as building their own Mars Rover, galaxy formation with slime and a 3D design of a new spacecraft. 

VR Creator: Fun with Unity and Oculus – Onsite: Ages 10-16 will learn how to publish their creations and get hands-on with Oculus Quest 2.

Spring Break Multi-Sport Camp at the Hawk Community Center

March 25-29, 2024 

For ages 6-10. You can choose to go the whole week or one-to-four days a week. Kids will play basketball and soccer and learn the rules and essential skills of each sport.

Spring Break STEAM Camp at Cranbrook Institute of Science

March 26-28, 2024

Campers in grades one-six can participate in special programs each day of the camp such as viewing a planetarium show, exploring interactive exhibits, learning from science experts and enjoying a high-energy stage performance.

Spring Survival Camp at Heritage Park

March 25-29, 2024 

Ages 6-12 will explore different nature activities, trips to the Nature Center, outdoor games and more at this spring break camp.

STEAM Break Camp at MSU Tollgate Farm and Education Center

March 25-29, 2024

Ages 5-10 can explore Tollgate barn, fields, pastures and forest at this spring break camp. There will be daily themes including helping with morning animal chores, afternoon hikes in the woods, harvesting early season produce, hatching chicks and new baby lambs. Kids will experience hands-on fun in a STEAM way.

The Compound Athletics Spring Break Camp

March 25-29, 2024

Boys and girls in grades four-eight can enjoy a basketball camp at The Compound. Register online.

Troy Gym Spring Break Camps at Troy Gym 1 and 2

March 25-29, 2024

Ages 4-12 can enjoy playing and exploring in the gym along with the Ninja Room. There will also be snacks, lunch and crafts.

Troy Gym Spring Break Camps at Troy Gym 3 and 4

March 25-29, 2024

Troy Gym 3 will be for campers ages 8-12 and Troy Gym 4 will be for campers ages 5-7. They’ll participate in the ropes course and the 8-12-year-old campers will enjoy the indoor swimming pool.

YMCA Spring Break Camps

March 25-28, 2024

  • Locations in Birmingham, Detroit, Farmington, Macomb, Milford, Royal Oak and Southgate
  • Cost: Varies by location

Children can enjoy lots of fun activities at Spring Break Camp at their local YMCA. The camp will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Ages for the camp depend on the location.
