Dad Creates Parent Parody of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’

YouTuber dad Kirk Connor was inspired by the electropop artist's hit and made a parody of her song that's all about the joys of fatherhood. He's dubbed it "Dad Guy."

Everyone loves a good dad joke, and Kirk Connor may have come up with the best one of all time.

Connor, the dad behind the YouTube channel Funk Turkey, put a twist on the Billie Eilish 2019 hit “Bad Guy” and made it into a semi-sarcastic, but incredibly realistic, representation of the joys of fatherhood.

The song, which he appropriately called “Dad Guy,” has racked up well over 1 million views on YouTube and has largely been met with love from the parenting community.

And it’s easy to see why.

Quips about taco sauce-stained T-shirts, mysterious bruises and hating his job set to the minimalistic Eilish tune just work – and images of Connor rubbing his wife’s baby bump, riding a lawnmower, plucking nose hair and other completely mundane things that every dad is familiar with, make it relatable, especially if you are a dad.

Of course, as with any good dad joke, Connor wasn’t going to stop with memorable lyrics and imagery.

Nah, he went full dad mode and threw in a chorus of “Used to be a tough guy. Liked it really rough guy. Just can’t get enough guy. Just always so buff guy. Now, I’m the dad type. Slightly out of breath type. Gained a couple pounds type. Eat over the sink type. I’m the dad guy. Eat your veggies.”

And don’t even get me started on the breakdown of Connor holding a sleeping baby in a red-lit room as he drinks a beer and belches.

This isn’t the only video that Connor has made about life in general. He’s also got a tune about a toothache and his morning routine, though “Dad Guy” is arguable his best work to date.
