Mom ‘Wages War’ on Kids Who TP’d Her House

One California mom wasn't angry at the kids who toilet papered her house – she was impressed. Now, she's on a mission to one-up them at their own game.

Where I come from, toilet papering someone’s house is a rite-of-passage for teens.

I can’t count the number of times that I played a hand in a TP’ing scheme. In fact, one of my ROTC teachers, who went by “Commander,” got his house toilet papered so many times (out of love) that his neighbors would occasionally come out and help.

My favorite time is when a few of my friends and I hit his house our senior year. We came prepared with dozens of rolls and were fully prepared to coat everything – there was even a forking involved.

What was even better was that a car of football players rolled by while this was happening, and they were able to launch the rolls so high that I don’t think Commander ever got the TP out of his trees.

He was a good sport about it, though. I mean, we definitely had to do a few more pushups during the next PT day, but he never waged war on us, which is good. Because, if truth be told, he had the power to make our lives miserable.

Which is why I don’t envy the teens who TP’d the house of Aubrey Depree Seymour.

This California mom from San Clemente woke up one morning to find that her yard had been hit hardcore, and she took to social media, praising the teens that did it for their hard work.

“To the kids that TP’d our house last night, I have a few choice words for you … AMAZING job, you have given me faith that there are still youths that choose to go ABOVE and BEYOND. One day I believe you will change the world with your DETERMINATION to be the best,” she wrote in a June 14 post to the Facebook page San Clemente Life.

Seems like a nice sarcastic compliment from a probably flabbergasted woman, right? Well, then she follows up with this bombshell:

“I do have you on my Ring, and when I find out who you are … game on my friend, we too have a Costco size supply of TP.”

Uh oh. Seems like this mom just waged war against the kids and, for their sake, I certainly hope that she’s not as creative as my friends and I were back in the day – in addition to his house, we TP’d Commander’s car, classroom and even filled his office with balloons once, and this was just on a teacher we liked – or these kiddos are going to have one big mess on their hands.

All jokes aside, I’m actually really happy that this mom took the teenage prank in good stride and isn’t out to have the kids arrested or something.

Waking up to a toilet paper mess is a bit annoying but it is really harmless, and I think a lot of people lose sight of the fact that when the teens are pulling harmless stunts, then they aren’t doing something more dangerous like drinking and driving or doing drugs.

That said, I hope that Seymour gets the teens back in a fun way.

After all, half the fun in TP’ing Commander’s house was seeing how he’d retaliate, which, in addition to pushups, was usually him pulling another prank on us.

Have you ever been TP’d? How did you react and have you ever tried to seek playful revenge? Tell us in the comments.
