Metro Detroit Gyms Offering Childcare for Fitness-Loving Parents

Take some time for yourself at these local gyms that will take care of your child during your workout.

Want to get back in the habit of working out, but don’t have anyone to watch your kiddos? These gyms in metro Detroit have you covered.

At these places, parents can get a couple hours of “me time” while reaching their fitness goals and know that their kids are being taken care of and having fun! 

Burn Fitness

This facility is open seven days a week and offers group exercise, cardio pieces, large free weight area and more. Parents can drop their children off at Kidzville during operation hours. For ages 6 months to 11 years old. 

Gold’s Gym

Parents can drop off their little ones at the Kids Club where they will have a blast with the gym’s trained staff members. Parents can hit up a group workout class or have some one-on-one fitness training with a personal trainer.

LA Fitness

LA Fitness has a Kids Club where parents can drop their children off to play while they go workout. Be sure to check with your location because some Kids Club locations have closed.

Life Time

Little ones (ages 3 months to 2 years old) can enjoy a sensory story time or academy activities like reading & music, games & puzzles, arts & crafts and weekly themes. Ages 1-11 can enjoy STEAM activities, fun weekly themes and much more. Progressive lessons are available for ages 3-plus and can embrace your child’s passion for martial arts, dance or gymnastics.

Powerhouse Gym

Parents can enjoy working out knowing their children are safe nearby. This 24/7 access gym has personal trainers, group classes, an aquatic pool, spa services and more.

Romulus Athletic Center

  • Cost: $2/boarding pass member child, $5/boarding pass non-member child, free/boarding pass plus members

“The Hanger” offers childcare for ages 2-12. They will be able to enjoy fun-filled activities, crafts, games and play for a maximum duration of two hours.

The Edge Fitness Clubs

Edge Kids keeps kids active with games like sports, balance, relays, individual team challenges and much more. Children ages 3 months to 12 years old are accepted. Children under 2 will engage in the infant/toddler area.

YMCA

  • Address: Various locations in metro Detroit
  • Cost: Included in YMCA membership

There are two options for workout child care at the YMCA. There is Child Watch for kids ages 2 month to 5 years and Kids Club for kids ages 6-12 years. Both options are free for members. Hours vary by location.
