Do your little ones get restless being cooped up in the house? Surprise them with a fantastically fun day at Peppa Pig World of Play.
This new 14,000-square-foot attraction in Auburn Hills, which is based on the hit Nick Jr. show for preschoolers, opened on April 9, 2019, and offers 14 themed areas for kids to explore.
Among these areas are key spots featured in the television show including Peppa’s house and the iconic family car, Danny Dog’s garage, Peppa’s treehouse and her little brother’s fort.
“George’s fort is the coolest place,” says Dawn Priebe, the attraction’s manager. “The fort has opportunities for kids to crawl, slides, a lookout tower and a little phone that patches to Peppa’s treehouse, so kids can talk to one another between Peppa’s treehouse and George’s fort.”
But that’s not all. Peppa Pig World of Play also offers ample opportunities for interactive and educational play, too.
“We have bikes that can go through a car wash and a mock gas station that helps kids really feel like they are interacting with the attraction,” Priebe says. “There’s a musical school bus where kids can sing ‘Wheels on the Bus’ with Miss Gazelle, instruments so they can learn about music in a fun environment – and then there’s a small store with places for kids to shop.”
This spot also offers interactive muddy puddles, which are fake mud puddles for kids to jump in with characters from the show, a sensory garden for babies and the dinosaur discovery area, which Priebe says is a really good area for crawlers.
“Peppa Pig World of Play is full of really fun opportunities for kids,” she adds. “It is a perfect fit for preschool-aged children but is physically designed for kids 6 months to 8 years old.”
Beyond the fun opportunities for play, this attraction also offers a viewing room, designed for tired kids to kick back and watch a few episodes of the Peppa Pig series before they get back to playing, along with a retail shop that is packed to the brim with stuffed animals, clothing and other Peppa Pig merchandise for sale.
Peppa Pig World of Play is located at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills across from AMC Theatre. The attraction is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
It takes approximately two hours for kids to enjoy all of the areas within the attraction and families who come during the peak hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday must purchase a wristband for a pre-assigned two-hour time slot.
Families who want to stay longer than two hours are recommended to visit the attraction during off peak hours which is Monday-Friday.
Admission to Peppa Pig World of Play is $25 per adult-child pair. Additional adults are $5 and additional children are $15-$20. Kids who are over the age of 9 are considered adults and will be charged adult admission.
