May Day! Find Family Fun at These 18 Awesome Metro Detroit Library Events for Kids in May 2025

From Star Wars crafts to baby proms, libraries across southeast Michigan are packed with fun, quirky and engaging activities for kids of all ages this May.

The school year is wrapping up, and libraries in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are stepping in to help local families through the home stretch.

Need a little extra excitement as the countdown to summer begins? How about a “Fabulous Fingerprint Necklace” or a chance to craft your own galaxy-inspired creation? Or maybe a trip to the “OMG Caturday” event, where teens can enjoy all things feline?

With so many cool events to choose from, there’s something for every kid — and family — looking to squeeze in a little extra fun before summer break.

Annual AAPI Fest
