What You’ll Find at Beaumont’s Baby Fairs

Get the scoop on what's planned for this year's informational baby fairs, sponsored by Beaumont Children's Hospital and happening April 7, 16 and 23, 2016.

Spring is synonymous with all things new, so it’s fitting that each spring, Beaumont celebrates the excitement of new life and southeast Michigan moms-to-be at its Beaumont Baby Fairs, this year happening April 7, 16 and 23, 2016.

These educational expos, held in St. Clair Shores, Royal Oak and Troy, bring together Beaumont’s Baby Team experts, parents and vendors to provide new and expecting moms with the information and resources needed to care for themselves and their new additions.

Aside from being jam-packed with useful info, the fairs demonstrate Beaumont’s ongoing support for families in the region.

“It’s an opportunity to show parents what types of resources not only our hospital has, but also our community has to support our new families,” says Patricia Fross, manager of Mother Baby Care at Beaumont.

At this year’s fairs, you’ll get a chance to meet the health practitioners who care for mom and baby at Beaumont Hospitals’ birthing centers – including doctors, nurse midwives, doulas and infant health professionals, Fross notes. You’ll also find two tables dedicated to learning more about the nurse midwives at Beaumont, a service that speaks to the hospital’s cutting-edge health practices and emphasis on holistic care. “It’s how health care is moving forward in this area,” Fross explains.

Be sure to take one of the many new parent mini-classes, covering birth to breastfeeding and new baby care. Get baby safety demonstrations, too (Do you know how to use a car seat properly? Learn that and more!). Or, connect with one of Beaumont’s parenting and baby support program representatives.

Check out the vendors and their products geared toward growing families, including returning favorites and fresh additions. Swing by to see Belly Bandit, providing new moms with belly support and control, Discovery Toys for the little ones, Brightside Dental, which is new this year and will be doing demos on early dental care – even essential oil vendors.

To cap it off, the day includes prizes and giveaways.

Why come out to one of the three fairs? Simple: “Because there’s always something new to learn,” Fross says. “No baby is the same – and it’s just a fun event (for moms) to learn more about how to care for themselves and their babies.”

Don’t miss the opportunity. Here’s where you’ll find the action:
