This super-cute recipe comes from Shannon Payette Seip and Kelly Parthen, the kids’ cooking gurus behind Bean Sprouts. In their clever book Bean Appétit: Hip and Healthy Ways to Have Fun with Food. Featuring darling details like pita bread wings, a turkey rollup body and little matchstick carrots for antennae, it incorporates oodles of children’s favorite foods. Not to mention, it’s incredibly easy – and fun! – for them to get in on the prep work in the kitchen with mom or dad.

Definitely better smelling (and tasting!) than bug spray, the Bug Bite Snack is a primo appetizer to create with your own little critters.
