Mom deserves a little TLC – and these recipes will start off her day perfectly.

Edna Mae’s Sour Cream Pancakes

Breakfast in bed is a yearly ritual for Ree Drummond. Also known as The Pioneer Woman her favorite flapjack recipe is Edna Mae’s sour cream pancakes. Edna Mae is Drummond’s husband’s grandmother. Here’s the secret to these pancakes airy yet dense texture – there are only 7 tablespoons of flour in the whole batter – the fluff of these pancakes comes from a creamy combo of sour cream and eggs.

Fruity Pancakes

Is mom a fan of fruit? Then these fruit pancakes from Parade’s Community Table will be a hit! Use a mixture of blueberries and chopped strawberries to fold into the pancake batter. Drop dollops of batter onto a medium-high non-stick skillet and cook through. Serve stacks of pancakes topped with a generous dusting of powdered sugar.

Oatmeal Pancakes

Make mom’s morning extra healthy with these oatmeal pancakes from Quaker Oats. Keep the recipe simple or stir in add-ins like finely chopped apples or chopped nuts. Instead of syrup, serve these pancakes with a dipping sauce of strawberry yogurt or plain yogurt thinned with honey.

Hot Chocolate Pancakes

To make these quick hot chocolate pancakes from Betty Crocker, start with Bisquick mix. Add in sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla and chocolate milk. Once cooked these pancakes taste like warm hot chocolate you can eat with a fork! Drizzle with chocolate syrup for an extra dose of sweetness.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Cookies for breakfast?! That’s what The Food Network’s chocolate chip pancakes taste like – warm cookies. Place a pat of butter on each pancake as soon as they’re done cooking for extra richness.

Carrot Cake Pancakes

If mom isn’t a chocolate fan, what about whipping up some carrot cake pancakes from Smitten Kitchen? Grate carrots fine before adding them to the batter along with golden raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon and a generous helping of buttermilk. Nix the syrup in favor of adding a dollop of cream cheese topping to each stack.
