All Aboard! Thomas the Tank Engine is Coming to Greenfield Village

Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour! is bringing train fun to metro Detroit families this spring.

Your kiddo’s favorite train, Thomas the Tank Engine, will be traveling through Greenfield Village on weekends from Saturday, May 4- Sunday, May 19. 

Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour is an interactive train ride experience for families. The springtime adventure includes taking a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine, meeting Sir Tophamn Hatt and more exciting activities like lawn games, photo ops, bubble-blowing zones, live music and more.

Families can fuel up before their train ride at the Railroader’s Brunch dining experience. The kid-friendly menu features Bananas Foster French toast, Belgian waffles with assorted toppings, Florentine mushroom frittatas, scrambled eggs, yogurt parfaits, assorted pastries, fresh fruit and more.

The Railroader’s Brunch experience includes a meal at A Taste of History, a 10:30 a.m. ticket for Thomas the Tank Engine, a visit with Sir Topham Hatt and all-day access to the festivities at Greenfield Village.

All aboard! Before you get ready to board Thomas, check out these helpful tips for preparing your family for the Day Out with Thomas experience.

  • Tickets for Day Out With Thomas and Railroader’s Brunch sell out quickly. Reserve your tickets online
  • Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the departure time on your tickets. Trains depart every 30 minutes, starting at 9 a.m. The last departure is at 4:30 p.m.
  • Each train ride is approximately 20 minutes. Seating is first-come, first- served on the train.

After your train ride, your tickets grant you all-day access to the exciting family activities at Greenfield Village until 5 p.m.  

  • Travel back in time and explore seven historical districts, including Working Farms, Liberty Craftworks, Henry Ford’s Model T, Railroad Junction, Main Street, Edison at Work and Porches & Parlors.
  • Enjoy storytelling, play areas, lawn games, photo ops, bubble-blowing zones, live music and more bubble activities. 
  • Browse the retail stores and special pop up vendors at Greenfield Village. 
  • Dine at one of the restaurants or pop up food vendors, including the Village Custard Stand!
