Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village in Dearborn 2020

Dress in your best costume and take a scare-free stroll during Hallowe'en at Greenfield Village. Catch it select evenings Oct. 8-31, 2020.

Categorized as “frightfully fun for the whole family,” Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village, Oct. 8-31, 2020, houses extravagant costumed characters at what is the most spooktacular Halloween event. Greenfield Village turns into a mid-20th century party.

Enter a place full of fun and adventure (that’s scare-free, to boot). More than 1,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns lace the mile-long, curving path. The Headless Horseman arrives on his horse to tell his story about The Legends of Sleepy Hollow – and dancing skeletons, witches and wizards skip along.

Meet interesting characters including fairies, ghosts, pirates and the Grim Reaper, himself. Each has something to tell. Check out these characters along with familiar faces from Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan to see what they have to say.

There’s also a crew performing fire-breathing and daring stunts, live music, hot drinks and snacks.

To keep all guests safe during their 2020 visit, Greenfield Village has kicked the prescribed walking path to the curb and instead encourage guests to pick and choose where they want to go and enjoy their own spooky adventure based on what makes them feel safe.

Trick-or-treating and other hands-on activities have also been eliminated from this year’s festivities to keep touch-points to a minimum. Instead, families can check out the all-new Hallowe’en Express train ride, which treats riders to a socially-distanced ghostly journey through the village.

Due to high demand, lower capacity and safety protocols, it is recommended that guests purchase tickets in advance online. Advanced registration is required for the Hallowe’en Express as walk-on accommodations are not available. Face masks are required to enter this event. Halloween masks and face shields are not a substitution for face masks.

Admission to this year’s event is $17 for nonmembers, $14.50 for members and free children under 2 years old. Parking is $6 and train rides are free.

The event runs Oct. 8-11, 15-18, 22-25 and 29-31, 2020 from 4-9:30 p.m. daily and you must register for a time slot.
