Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Museums on Us

Families with Bank of America or Merrill Lynch cards gain free admission to select local cultural institutions select dates January-December 2016.

Looking to give your child a well-rounded and educational vacation, but finding it hard to swing admission fees for every local museum? Well, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch have you covered. The first full weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders get free admission to some museums in Michigan thanks to the Museums on Us program, which began in January and runs through December 2016.

This is how it works: Cardholders head out to one of the participating museums the first full weekend in every month (Saturday and Sunday), flash your credit or debit card and photo ID, and boom, you’re in, free of charge. Cardholders will receive free admission; guests are not eligible for free entry.

The program happens throughout the country at 150 different art and historical museums, science centers and botanical gardens. Here in metro Detroit, parents will find this special offer at the following locations:

Or, if you plan on traveling elsewhere in the state, Flint Institute of Arts and Grand Rapids Art Museum are on the list, too.

Museum on Us by Bank of America and Merrill Lynch runs Jan. 2-3, Feb. 6-7, March 5-6, April 2-3, May 7-8, June 4-5, July 2-3, Aug. 6-7, Sept. 3-4, Oct. 1-2, Nov. 5-6 and Dec. 3-4, 2016.

Hours may vary based on the museum, so check ahead! This program excludes fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows; it will not be combined with other promotions.

See the Metro Parent calendar listing for more information on the 2016 Museums on Us program.
