Whether you’re in need of a unique date night idea or simply looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, axe throwing might be a perfect activity for you.

This target sport, which has gained massive popularity in recent years, involves throwing an axe at a target 10 to 12 feet away in an attempt to hit the bull’s-eye — the closer you get to it, the better you score.

Here, we’ve rounded up a list of 12 axe throwing spots in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor for you to unlock your lumberjack skills at and enjoy an outing with the fam.

Axe Throwing Zone

This fun spot offers six lanes of axe throwing and rage rooms. Call for booking and cost details.

Axe Ventura

Every person that plays at this spot gets a lesson in throwing and sticking the axe.

BATL Axe Novi

Choose from a BATL casual for two throwers, a BATL Premium for 6-plus throwers or a party pack, which includes a flat rate for your whole group and drinks all around (minus your DD).

Detroit Axe

Make a reservation at (or walk in to) one of its three locations for an hour or more of axe throwing. Kids must be at least 14 to throw.

Full Throttle Adrenaline Park

This play center offers go-karting, virtual reality, a rage room and, of course, axe throwing. Choose one activity or get an adrenaline pass to enjoy them all.

Hub Stadium

Find 10 axe throwing stalls to enjoy. Plus, eight football bowling lanes, three Topgolf swing suite simulators and much more. Must be over 18 to participate in axe throwing.

On the Dunes

Make a reservation at one of the three new outdoor axe throwing lanes. On the Dunes offers golf, football bowling, baseball and softball, volleyball and dodgeball, too.

Rev’d Up Fun

Reserve a private area for your party to try their hand at axe throwing. You will have a dedicated coach to help teach you the needed skills. All participants must be at least 14.

The Legendary Axe

Book a party or walk in to throw an axe with your friends. Leagues available, too. Kids must be at least 12 years old to throw.

The Tailgate Garage

Three people can enjoy a session of axe throwing at a time. Find a ropes course, virtual reality, football bowling and more.

Total Axe

This spot offers reservations, walk-ins and leagues for axe-throwers of all skill levels. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Closed-toe shoes are required. Pricing is based on how long you stay.

World of Games

Gather a group of up to 10 people and try axe throwing at the WOG Axe Master class. Closed-toe shoes are required. Must be 18 years old or 16-plus with a guardian.
