Metro Detroit has the best hidden gems. This summer, I set out to uncover some of the most unique treats and want to share four of them that I think offer something for everyone in the family to enjoy!
Detroit Cookie Company
Stuffed cookies? Yes, Please! Use the cool walk-up window at Detroit Cookie Co. to order your goodies. Choose from the cereal bars featuring the nostalgic favorite Fruit Loops or the signature Cap’n Berry-O cookies. Locations in Ferndale and Ann Arbor.
Joe Randazzo’s Fruit Market
Going to the fruit market in Michigan during the summer is a beautiful experience. Joe Randazzo’s always features the most unique fruits like kumquats, guava and persimmons. Grab a pint of fresh blueberries to set up a refreshing frozen smoothie bar at home. Multiple locations.
Pink Elephant Cupcakes
July may be my favorite month because Pink Elephant in St. Clair Shores is offering its Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcake. The menu changes each month and keeps you coming back for more! It also offers take & bakes, the perfect activity to do at home with the kiddos!
For The Love of Sugar
It’s all in the title here, and founder Manal doesn’t disappoint! Located in the heart of Midtown, FTLOS serves up some of the best macarons I’ve had! There’s a variety of pastries to choose from, and cake by the slice. Mom tip: Try a slice of the rainbow fruity cereal cake. It’s magical!
