Family Days at Local Museums and Other Attractions

There's no better time to visit local museum, park or other attraction than on kids' day!

Looking for a fun way to spend a day with the kids? Kids’ Days are the best days to enjoy some of the educational hubs or fun spots in our area.

These events typically happen on a schedule and often feature a lower entrance fee for kids or special events geared directed at youth.

Whether it’s an educational, recreational or a full-family opportunity, get involved in the activities that these community places have to offer at these upcoming kids’ day events.

Family Day at Barcade

This bar and arcade is typically only open to ages 21-plus but the first Sunday of every month is open to families. Swing by and let the kids play some games while you have a drink.

Family Fun Days at Beacon Park

Each Sunday through the end of summer, Detroit’s Beacon Park hosts themed days that feature lawn games, crafts, live music and much more.

Family Fun Days at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History

On select days, The Wright invites families of early elementary school students to come and learn about African history through fun activities. Each day offers a different theme.

Family Day at Cranbook Art Museum

Every third Saturday of the month through the end of summer, Cranbrook Art Museum offers tons of fun family activities including crafts, scavenger hunts, kid-friendly tours and much more. The themes change monthly.

Free First Friday at the Cranbrook Institute of Science

The museum offers free admission on the first Friday of every month so that families can come and enjoy the wonders inside.

Family Fun Days at Detroit Historical Museum

Take a step back in time at one of the Detroit Historical Museum’s Family Fun Days! These events are typically held once a month and each have a different theme. Check the museum’s calendar for details.

Family Day at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit

Bring your kids out to see the art displays and try different workshops inspired by that art. Family Day typically happens monthly, but that can vary throughout the year.

Family Fun Day at Sky Zone in Shelby Township

Families of four enjoy 90 minutes of jumping for four, one large pizza and a pitcher of pop on select Sundays. Sky Zone socks are required and not included in this price.
