Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in Downtown New Baltimore

The world's only fishfly festival is back again! Bring your family to the Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival in Macomb County, June 19-23, 2019.

The Bay-Rama Fishfly Festival is celebrating its 55th year, and you can join the celebration when the June festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 19 through Sunday, June 23, 2019.

All weekend, families can find classic festival fun at the midway. But there’s so much more to explore in addition to the rides and games on the midway in downtown New Baltimore.

On Wednesday, kids can join in the fun on the Ping Pong Drop in Walter and Mary Burke Park. Starting at 5 p.m., there’s one drop for kids ages 3-6 and another for ages 7-10.

Also on Wednesday is the Miss Bay-Rama pageant and the Chicken Chuckin event for all ages 7 and up.

Thursday, kids can enjoy many unique events including a bubble gum blowing contest (ages 6-11) and a “wrap your mummy” contest (ages 6-11). Anyone of any age can compete in the Hoola Hoop contest, and anyone 12 and under can participate in the Snapchat Scavenger Hunt.

At dusk, head over to the Walter and Mary Burke Park to watch the Fabulous Fishfly Fireworks. Top Dog Entertainment will be providing music in the park as well.

For anyone who is looking for a little competition, come with an empty stomach on Friday! There’s a pie-eating contest, as well as a watermelon-eating contest, for ages 7 and up.

At the New Baltimore Civic Club, kids ages 12 and under can go to the Make Believe Pizza Bash ($15/person; costumes required). Parents are welcome as well. Advance registration is required for this event.

Saturday features kid-friendly fun including Kids’ Day, for ages 12 and under, a petting farm, presentations by McGruff the Crime Dog, and a cardboard boat regatta.

There will be a pizza eating contest and a Fun Run on Saturday, too.

Finally, Sunday, the main event is the parade. But first, head to the Queen’s Breakfast at St. John’s Lutheran Church ($7/adults, $5/kids 5-12, free/under 5). The parade starts at 1 p.m. so grab your spot on Green Street! Don’t forget to swing by the midway and catch performances by Rosco the Clown on this day, too.

Admission to the event is free, though there are fees for rides and other activities. Times for the event are as follows:

  • Wednesday-Friday: 3 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
  • Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 a.m.
  • Sunday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
