Families will have the chance to explore a Chanukah Wonderland this holiday season, Dec. 22-24, 2019, will take place at Orchard Mall in West Bloomfield.
A project of the Bais Chabad Torah Center in West Bloomfield, Chanukah Wonderland will feature three days of activities to celebrate the holiday including food, hands-on educational activities and entertainment.
Daily offerings include an elephant photo booth, challenge table, dreidel bounce house and “Tot Town” with a ball pit, play dough, sand table and Lego-Land; plus an olive press demonstration and crafts such as Chanukah slime, dreidel canvas art and menorah in a box.
But the biggest event of all happens on Dec. 23. The Menorah Parade starts at 4 p.m. and features a procession lead by a firetruck, followed by live musical performances, a 75-foot gelt drop and a menorah lighting.
Throughout the event, guests are encouraged to contribute canned foods to be added to the CANorah that will later be donated to a local food bank.
Hours of operation are as follows:
- Noon-5 p.m. Sunday
- Noon-3 p.m. Mondays-Tuesday
Admission is $5 per child to participate in activities. Guests can walk through the wonderland for free. Americana Chapps, the new location of this event in 2019 is located at 7410 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield.
