Chelsea Community Fair on the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds

In search of a fun fest to take your children to before they return to school? Take them to the Chelsea Community Fair on the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds Aug. 25-29, 2015.

The fair includes multiple derbies and 22 thrilling rides, the Chelsea Update reports. Kids will be able to compete in a variety of contests for the chance to be awarded ribbons. There is also a children’s parade to open the event at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Children ages 3-12 are invited to participate in the parade.

While the annual poultry show won’t return this year, other crowd favorites such as crowning the Chelsea Fair Queen will still occur. In the here will also be six concession stands selling sweet cotton candy, Philly steak sandwiches and more, Chelsea Update notes.

There will be numerous agricultural exhibits featured, from the “largest pumpkins” to the “freakish squash” and “most original scarecrow.” Families can also visit the animal exhibits and horse shows.

Events start at 8 a.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. Thursday, 8:30 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday (rides begin later than event start time). Be sure to visit the event website for a full schedule of lineups for each day. The fair is free and open to the public.
