Do you have a kid that simply can’t go to sleep without a classic storybook tale? Then grab your pumpkin and bippity boppity boo yourself over to the Fox Theatre in Detroit when the mother of all fairy tales, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, hits the stage, March 29-31, 2019.
This Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which came from the minds behind The Sound of Music and The King and I, puts a contemporary twist on the beloved story of an a young girl who is borderline abused by her evil stepmother and two ugly stepsisters, but holds onto her dreams and believes that someday they will come true.
One day, when she’s feeling particularly low, Cinderella’s fairy godmother comes to her and gives her everything that she needs to go to the ball – including a killer pair of shoes that turn out to be her ticket out of her dreary life.
But this show isn’t just your run-of-the-mill Cinderella story. It twists and turns you all the way to happily ever after and features over-the-top orchestra performances, jaw-dropping transformations and some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most-loved songs that will keep your kids engaged and transport you back to your childhood, too.
