Day Out With Thomas at Greenfield Village in Dearborn

All aboard the train and full steam ahead for a Day Out with Thomas, April 27-28, May 4-5 and May 11-12, 2019, at Greenfield Village in Dearborn.

Thomas the Tank Engine will be pulling into the station at Greenfield Village in Dearborn just in time for lots of railroad-themed fun during the Day Out With Thomas event, which runs April 27-28, May 4-5 and May 11-12, 2019.

Visitors will enjoy a variety of activities including roundhouse tours of steam locomotives, railroad songs and stories, photos with Sir Topham Hatt and temporary tattoos of their Island of Sodor friends.

The experience is a reminder that the Thomas saying really is true, “Little engines can do big things!”

As kids make discoveries and try out the many hands-on activities at the event, they’ll also be learning indispensable lessons about mechanics and engineering in an engaging way – by using all their senses.

Alongside the train rides, meetings and storytelling experiences, little ones can also dance to live music, watch magic shows, visit the imagination station – now equipped with iPads that visitors can interact with – and even do some shopping.

Train ride departure times are available between 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (last time slot is at 4:30 p.m.). A special sensory-friendly version of the event runs 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Prior to ride time, families can partake in the Railroader’s Breakfast dining experience in the Taste of History Restaurant. Make a reservation and enjoy sausage and pancakes before climbing aboard.

Non-member admission prices, which include entry to Greenfield Village and the Thomas the Tank event, are $39.75 for adults, $32.75 for ages 5-11 and $11.75 for ages 1-4. Guests are encouraged to register in advance, as tickets sell out fast.

Parking is $6 per vehicle.
