Dearborn Heights Spirit Festival

Celebrate the start of summer at the Dearborn Heights Spirit Festival, which returns June 5-9, 2019, with food, amusement rides, music and more.

Looking to give your kids a taste of the world? Look no further than the 33rd annual Dearborn Heights Spirit Festival. From Mexican to Italian, ethnic cuisine is here to enjoy – along with loads of summer fun. Grab your family and head on over June 5-9, 2019.

The festival offers guests a variety of attractions sure to appeal to family members of all ages. Families can enjoy amusement rides, the 27th annual “Taste of the Heights” food fest and the music of multiple tribute bands.

Parents can enjoy a blast from the past by listening to the iconic tunes by bands like Howlin Mercy, FiftyAmpFuse, Larry Lee and The Back in the Day Band and many others throughout the weekend.

Speaking of those rides – the Spirit Festival also touts Dearborn Heights’ largest amusement ride midway! Beyond high-thrills choices, it also includes tot-friendly rides like a mini train ride and a carousel.

Once the kids are exhausted from running from ride to ride, recharge over at that “Taste of the Heights.” This food fest runs 5-6 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Canfield Community Center – and features delicious delights from local restaurants. Children under three are admitted into the food fest for free. There is an additional fee for those three and older.

Guests are encouraged to park at the Dearborn Heights Post Office and ride the free shuttle to the festival. Shuttles are scheduled every 10 minutes and are handicap accessible.

Day passes are available for each day of festivities for amusement rides. Those prices range $16-$25.

Hours for the 2019 midway are as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 5: 4-10 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 6: 4-10 p.m.
  • Friday, June 7: 3 p.m.-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 8: noon-10 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 9: noon-11 p.m.

Live entertainment times vary.
