If you are fortunate enough to own a classic car – or simply wish you did – the 24th annual Mount Clemens Cruise happening June 5-6, 2015 will bring back old memories and create new ones for the whole family.
With Detroit being home of the automotive industry, the Mount Clemens Cruise has grown and boasts being “one of the premier classic car events in the country.”
The cruise celebrates automotive history with participants cruising Gratiot Avenue – while benefiting charitable organizations, too. The event is organized by the Friends of Mount Clemens nonprofit.
If you own a classic, be sure to polish and register your car for the open cruises and judged car shows. And it won’t be boring for kids! Take them to Macomb Street for the Kids Fun Zone where they can run around and enjoy kid-friendly fun like an inflatable slide, moonwalk, Thomas the Trolley, face painting and magic shows.
This two-day weekend event begins at 5 p.m. Friday, June 5, which is when pre-registration commences at the corner of Main and Market streets in downtown Mount Clemens. Open cruise follows after until 10 p.m.
Car Show registration and check-in is 7-9 a.m. Saturday, June 6. There is a registration fee, and VIP parking is $5. Visit each car and find your favorite from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Judged Car Show, then stick around for the award ceremony at 2 p.m. Special attraction cars from The Fast and The Furious will also be visiting in the “Cars of the Stars,” so pull out your lawn chair and take a seat for the open cruise from 3-10 p.m.
Ever thought the Mount Clemens Cruise could be better? Now is your chance. Volunteer and put your ideas and helpful hand to work. Just contact the Mount Clemens Cruise by Facebook and put “Volunteer” in the subject line with your contact information.
