Hop Over to These Exciting Egg Hunts for Metro Detroit Kids

Leading up to the Sunday holiday, there are tons of family Easter events in southeast Michigan. Get details on the best local events here.

Hippity hop, Easter is on its way (on March 31, 2024, to be exact)! The Easter Bunny is sure to be spotted soon and there are tons of Easter events to celebrate his arrival in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties!

We’ve compiled this list of some of the coolest egg hunts, Bunny Brunches and other Easter events in the area to help ease your search for the right event for your family. There’s even an event where a helicopter drops Easter eggs from the sky!

March 24 and 30, 2024

Ages 3 and up will enjoy an egg hunt, train rides, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, crafts and a petting zoo. Make sure to bring your own basket and dress for the weather. Registration required.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Grace Christian Church

March 29, 2024

This family-friendly event features an egg grab, crafts, carnival games, a petting zoo, balloon animals, face painting, inflatables, train rides and more. Concessions will be available for purchase. No registration is required.

Egg Scramble at Drake Sports Park

March 21, 2024

Ages 1-8 can take part in their own Easter egg hunt, which also has a train ride, petting farm and visit with Mr. Bunny. Make sure to bring your own basket. Registration required.

Canterbury Eggstravaganza at Canterbury Village

March 23-24, 29-30, 2024

A helicopter will rain Easter eggs from the sky at this hunt at Canterbury Village. The afternoon will also include lawn games, a petting zoo, a bounce house and photos with the Easter Bunny. Make sure to bring your own basket to collect your eggs. Advanced registration required.

Easter Egg Hunt at Duck Lake Pines Park

March 23, 2024

Ages 2-10 can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt at Duck Lake Pines Park. Kids can enjoy face painting and a visit with the Easter bunny. The first 500 children will receive a goody bag.

Egg Scramble Along the Trail at Indian Springs Metropark

March 23, 2024

Ages 10 and under can bring their own baskets to search for hidden eggs in themed locations along the trail. Keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny. Registration is required.  

Maggiano’s Troy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

At this Easter breakfast event, children can enjoy an Easter egg hunt, visit with the Easter bunny and enjoy other fun activities. Advanced tickets required.

RARA Easter Egg Hunt at Rochester Municipal Park

March 23, 2024

Check out RARA’s Ninth Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Bring a camera so your child can get a photo with the Easter Bunny, play games and hunt for eggs during this annual event. Dress for the weather. Different time slots available for ages 1-4, 5-7 and ages 8-11. Registration for each child is required. 

Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo

March 29-30, 2024

This annual two-day event features a golden egg hunt, live entertainment, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, inflatables, more. Check out the Zoo Tales Story Trail, an innovative collaboration with PBS that brings stories of the wild to life throughout the Zoo.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Paradise Park

March 30, 2024

Families can enjoy an Easter egg hunt at Paradise Park. Find colorful eggs willed with toys, candy and free attraction tickets. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. and lunch begins at noon. Lunch will include homemade pizza, salad, breadsticks, dessert and beverages.

Community Easter Egg Hunt at Grant Park

March 30, 2024

Activities include a craft table, visiting and photos with the Easter Bunny, a raffle and an Easter egg hunt. The first egg hunt for ages 0-3 will start around 10 a.m. with the other groups, ages 4-7 and 8-12 following immediately after.

Community Egg Hunt at Oxford Park

March 30, 2024

This community egg hunt is hosted by Berkley First and Birmingham First. The hunt kicks off at 10 a.m. with three designated areas for different age groups. There will be donuts from the food truck, live music, moments with the Easter Bunny and more. Bring your own basket and camera.

Easter Bunny Bonanza at Seymour Lake Township Park

March 30, 2024

Enjoy an egg hunt and watch the bunny chopper fly over the park and drop ping pong balls. Advanced tickets required before 5 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at the Parks & Recreation Office.
