Leading up to the Sunday holiday on April 17, 2022, there are tons of family Easter events in southeast Michigan. Get details on the best local events here.

Hippity hop, Easter is on its way (on April 17, 2022, to be exact)! The Easter Bunny has been spotted around town, and there are tons of socially distanced Easter events to celebrate his arrival in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties!

Metro Parent has compiled this list of some of the coolest egg hunts, Easter Bunny visits and other family Easter events in the area to help ease your search for the right event for your family. There’s even an event where a helicopter drops Easter eggs from the sky!

Hop to It, Kids! Online Easter Egg Hunt

Join Watson Adventures for a virtual Easter Egg Hunt! Chickens—or is it bunnies?— have laid eggs everywhere and it’s up to you to find them! They’re almost hidden in art museum paintings, in royal homes as Fabergé eggs, or in natural history museums as giant dinosaur eggs and tiny hummingbird eggs. The host of the hunt will meet with teams of players ages 10 and older on Zoom and then send each one hopping off around the world, following clues that lead to websites to must find eggs and answer fun questions about them.

Bunny Breakfast at Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices

The event offers a visit with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, breakfast, plastic eggs and prizes to win. Brunch will include pancakes, sausage and drink. Make sure to bring your camera as professional photos will not be provided. Registration required.

Natural Egg Dying at Stony Creek Metropark

April 2, 2022

Ages 5 and up will learn how to use natural items to create dyes and then discover some creative ways to decorate their eggs at this event. All materials will be provided, including the hardboiled eggs and tools needed to bring home your eggs. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration required.

Easter Egg-stravaganza at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill 

April 2, 2022

Ages 9 and under will enjoy an egg hunt, train rides, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, crafts and a petting zoo. Make sure to bring your own basket and dress for the weather. For ages 9 and under. Registration required.

Egg-cellent Egg-speriments

April 3, 2022

Ages 5-15 will dye some eggs, squish some eggs and bounce some eggs. All supplies will be provided, including the eggs. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration required.

Easter Bunny Lunch at the Shelby Township Activities Center

April 9, 2022

Join the Easter bunny for a pizza and salad lunch at the Shelby Township Activities Center. There will also be a surprise entertainer. For ages 10 and under. Pre-registration required.

Easter Egg-Citement at the Clinton Township Civic Center

April 9, 2022

Ages 9 and under will enjoy games, petting zoo and hunting for eggs at this Easter event. Make sure to bring your own camera to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Dress for the weather.

Easter Egg Hunt at Stony Creek Metropark Nature Center

April 9, 2022

Kids will get a glimpse of the Easter Bunny and participate in an egg hunt grouped by age. Crafts, too. For children ages 10 and under. Registration required.

Easter Egg Scramble at Shelby Township Activities Center

April 9, 2022

This Easter event returns with face painting, balloons, egg hunt and a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny. The hunt will be broken up into two different age groups, one for ages 3-5 and another for ages 6-10. Pre-registration is required.

Eggstravaganza at Macomb Township Recreation Center

April 9, 2022

Little ones can visit with Mr. E. Bunny and receive a surprise. There will also be games, crafts, live farm animals, inflatables and more. Registration required by April 4 or until tickets are sold out.

Toddler Easter Egg Scramble at the Farm Center at Wolcott Mill Metropark

April 9, 2022

Little ones can hop around and collect eggs at this scramble, specifically for their age. Make a craft and visit with the Easter Bunny. A snack and drink will be included. Wagon rides will be available for an extra cost. For ages 2-4. Registration required.

Warren’s Spring Carnival at the Warren Community Center

April 9, 2022

Warren residents can come out to the Spring Carnival that includes an egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, inflatables, balloon artists, gaming trailer and more.

Farm Egg Scramble at the Farm Center at Wolcott Mill Metropark

April 10, 2022

Check out the animals at the farm, visit with Rosco the Clown and the Easter Bunny, enter a coloring contest, hunt for eggs and more. For ages 2-12. Registration required. 

Oakland

Easter Egg Drop at Ward Church 

April 2, 2022

This is an indoor event for families with young children through first grade. Children will bring their own Easter baskets and will follow a path through the building to collect eggs and prizes. Registration required.

Spring Fest at the Troy Community Center Field

April 3, 2022

  • Cost: $15/resident ages 2-12, $18/non-resident ages 2-12, $10/resident ages 13-plus, $13/non-resident ages 13-plus, $4/under 2

There will be activity booths, crafts, bounce house, spring photo booth, chalk art, light snacks and more at the fest. Masks are required indoors. Registration required.

Adult Flashlight Egg Hunt at the Longacre House

April 7-8, 2022

The night will begin with a pasta dinner and will be followed by games and lots of laughs. The egg hunt will begin once it gets dark so make sure to bring your own flashlight. Redeem eggs for raffle tickets to win prizes. There will also be a cash bar for beer and wine. Good for ages 21-plus. Pre-registration required.

Spring-a-Ling at Southfield Parks & Recreation Building

April 8, 2022

Enjoy parking lot performances by the magician, a petting zoo, three family-favorite costumed characters and a stilt walker. See “The Bunny” for a goodie bag for kids ages 2-13 years old. Registration required.

Village Egg Hunt at Troy Historic Village

Canterbury Eggstravaganza at Old World Canterbury Village

April 9-10, 2022

A helicopter will rain Easter eggs from the sky at this hunt at Canterbury Village. The afternoon will also include lawn games, crafts and photos with the Easter bunny. Makes sure to bring your own basket to collect your eggs. Advanced registration required; no tickets will be sold at the door.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Birmingham First United Methodist Church

Children will be able to meet with the Easter Bunny and participate in an Easter egg hunt. There will also be food, music, crafts and more.

RARA Easter Egg Hunt at Rochester Park

Check out RARA’s 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Bring a camera so your child can get a photo with the Easter Bunny, play games and hunt for eggs during this annual event. Dress for the weather. Pre-registration for each child is required. Different time slots available for ages 1-5 and ages 6-11.

Spring Fling Egg Hunt at Marshbank Park

At this event, little ones can hunt for egg and then visit with Mr. Bunny. There will also be a petting farm and trackless train rides. Make sure to bring a basket to carry your goodies. For ages 1-7. Pre-registration is required.

Spring Fling Flashlight Egg Hunt at Marshbank Park

April 14, 2022

This Easter egg hunt is designed for the slightly older egg hunters. Make sure to bring your flashlight and own basket. Event will begin when it is dark. Make sure to dress for the weather and wear boots. For ages 7-12 years old. Pre-registration required.

Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo

April 15-16, 2022

This annual event features a golden egg hunt sponsored by Kinder Joy®, live entertainment, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, more. Bring non-perishable food items to donate to Gleaners.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Bonnet Contest at the Auburn Hills Community Center

April 16, 2022

Adults can enter the egg toss contest, while children can participate in the egg hunt, enter the bonnet contest, have their pic taken with the Easter Bunny and more. Registration required.

Easter Egg Hunt & Lunch at Paradise Park

April 16, 2022

Enjoy exploring the park looking for hundreds of colorful eggs filled with candy, toys and free attraction tickets. A lunch buffet will also be served from noon-1:15 p.m. There will be homemade pizza, breadsticks, salads, beverages and an assortment of desserts. Advanced registration is required.

Egg Scramble Along the Trail at Indian Springs Metropark

Head down the “bunny trail” to collect candy-filled Easter eggs. The trail ends with none other than the Easter Bunny, where they can take a photo. Rosco the Clown will also be there to entertain. Fun for all ages.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at Hudson Mills Metropark

Children ages 8-12 will love the extra challenge of this special nighttime egg hunt searching for eggs in different themed areas outdoors. Bring a basket or bag and a flashlight to help search for the eggs. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Spring Easter EGG-STRAVAGANZA at Bluestone Children’s Center

Join the center for a a sensory friendly egg hunt. Other activities will include games, face painting, food trucks, auction and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Spring Eggstravaganza at at the Leslie Science & Nature Center

Ages 12 and under will be able to go on an egg hunt through the woods by solving riddles, following clues and using a compass. Meet some animals of prey and play some games. Make sure to bring your own basket for the hunt. Registration required.

Springfest at the Saline Recreation Center

April 16, 2022

Join Saline Recreation Center for a fun egg hunt in the woods. Children should bring their own baskets or bags to collect eggs. After the hunt, you will follow their Hippity Hop Trail all the way back to the start. For ages 1-10.

Hop along the bunny trail at the Ford House for an Easter-themed scavenger hunt all throughout April. Your little one will also get a treat inside the Visitor Center.
