St. Patrick’s Day Events in Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor

Prepare for an Irish-themed takeover this March as metro Detroit and Ann Arbor gear up for St. Paddy's Day 2023 at these St. Patrick's Day events.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on Friday, March 17, 2023. If the luck of the Irish is on your side, your family will get the chance to experience at least one of these great in-person and virtual St. Patrick’s Day events in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor.

These family-friendly events give adults and kids a fun way to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland — along with shamrocks and all things green.

Several days in March 2023 are packed with family-friendly St. Paddy’s Day fun. So, dust off your green stockings, turn on your Irish pride and head out to one of these fantastic events.

Liam the Leprechaun Hide and Seek at Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy, Inc.

March 1-17, 2023

Kids can come out to Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy, Inc. to find Liam the Leprechaun. Tell the cashier when you find him and you will receive a prize.

Cultural Arts Concert Series: Blackthorn at Farmington Hills Community Center – The Hawk

March 4, 2023

Irish music sensation, Blackthorn, takes the stage for a musical experience that captures the history and legend of Ireland and its people. Regularly featured at world renowned Irish festivals and venues, the Detroit-based band, joins us for a night of Irish music just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! 

Leprechaun Days at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion

March 11-12, 2023

Kids will roam throughout the village collecting the hidden coins and taking them to the shops where they can exchange them for prizes. There will also be a petting zoo, kid’s DJ, fire pits for s’mores and free pictures with Leprechauns in the Leprechaun Barn.

Luck of the Irish Skate at Civic Center Arena

March 11, 2023

Make sure to come dressed in your green at this Irish ice skating event. Participate in a scavenger hunt and win a prize.

Rainbow Saturday Storytime at Center Line Public Library

March 11, 2023

Children ages 0-5 can join Miss Alex to hear a few St. Patrick’s themed stories and make a rainbow chair craft afterwards. Registration required.

St. Paddy’s in the Park at Blossom Heath Park

March 11, 2023

Families can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with live entertainment food truck and a beer area.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans 5K & Kids K at Connor O’Neills

March 12, 2023

Families can run or walk a 5K or Kids Kilometer race. All proceeds from this event go to Save a Heart. After the race, there will be live music, Irish Dancers, bagpipers, face painting, food and drinks.

St. Patrick’s Parade in Corktown, Detroit

March 12, 2023

The D welcomes back this annual, which comes with a procession filled with leprechauns, shamrock floats and other Irish swag.

The Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade Private Family Fun Zone

March 12, 2023

Bring your family out to the best viewing area of the Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There will be Irish Step Dancing lessons, Irish entertainment, inflatables, donuts and coffee. Also, heated grandstand view of the parade and private restrooms.

Leprechaun Break-out Room at Warren Arthur Miller Library

Ages 6-11 can come out to Warren Arthur Miller Library to help find Goldie McMuffin’s stolen pot of gold. Use the clues to find it.

St. Paddy’s Day Dance at Chief Financial Credit Union

March 17, 2023

This themed dance is designed for kids with special needs ages 14 and up. Enjoy great music and dancing, while enjoy a fun evening with friends for St. Patrick’s Day.  Refreshments will be served.

St. Patrick’s Day Party for Kids! at Harrison Township Public Library

March 18, 2023

Children can enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day party which includes a story time, crafts and snacks. Registration required.
