Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with family-friendly events in metro Detroit, from parades to parties, crafts, and festive fun for kids.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on Monday, March 17, 2025. If the luck of the Irish is on your side, your family will get the chance to experience at least one of these St. Patrick’s Day events this month in metro Detroit.

These kid-friendly events give families a fun way to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland, along with shamrocks and all things green.

Kid-friendly St. Patrick’s Day events in metro Detroit 

Shamrocks & Shenanigans 5K & Kids K at Conor O’Neills

March 9, 2025 

  • Address: 318 S. Main St., Ann Arbor
  • Cost: $18-$39

Families can run or walk a 5K or Kids Kilometer race. All proceeds from this event go to Save a Heart. After the race, there will be live music, Irish Dancers, bagpipers, face painting, food and drinks.  

Kids St. Patrick’s Party at Boston’s!

March 12, 2025 

  • Address: 15133 Hall Road, Shelby Township
  • Cost: Free admission; fees for food and drinks

This St. Patrick’s Day party is great for all ages. It features a craft table, coloring sheets, face painting, glitter tattoos, games and more. Boston the Bulldog will be there. Kids also eat free (with the purchase of an adult meal). 

Leprechaun Days at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion

A festive St. Patrick’s Day event where children receive candy from a booth attendant wearing a green hat and shamrock face decoration. Families dressed in green celebrate indoors, enjoying holiday-themed activities and treats.

Enjoy a kid-friendly St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Irish dancers, magic shows, free bounce houses and more. Find ten gold coins throughout the village to turn in for a prize.  

Royal Oak St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 15, 2025 

  • Address: Downtown Royal Oak
  • Cost: Free

Wear and decorate your wagons and bicycles in everything green and take part in a family-filled celebration of Irish tradition at this annual event. 

St. Patrick’s Parade in Corktown, Detroit

This annual event comes with a procession filled with leprechauns, shamrock floats and other Irish swag.

The Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade Private Family Fun Zone

March 16, 2025

  • Address: 1217 Michigan Ave., Detroit
  • Cost: $12/person, $60/family pack of six tickets

Bring your family out to the best viewing area of Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There will be Irish step dancing lessons, Irish entertainment, face painting, donuts and coffee. Guests can also enjoy a heated grandstand view of the parade and private restrooms. Tickets must be purchased in advance by March 12.

Kids Leprechaun Traps at Harrison Township Public Library

March 11, 2025

Kids can create their own Leprechaun Trap at the library. All craft supplies, boxes and decorations will be provided.
