Summer time is fun time, and metro Detroit serves up some amazing July fairs and festivals. So grab your adventure-seeking little ones and head to a family-fun annual offering in Macomb County – namely, the Fraser Lions Carnival, which runs July 18-21, 2019.
Children get their adrenaline fix on the kid-friendly rides brightening up the midway. Once they’ve spent all of their energy running through Steffens Park in Fraser, they can reenergize with the yummy eats available for purchase in the food tent.
While rejuvenating, kids can enjoy live entertainment and other activities available throughout the weekend of festivities, too.
While food and entertainment keep the kids busy, parents can swing by the beer tent or vendor show for their own “break.” The beer tent is open daily for varying hours throughout the weekend while the vendor show opens at 5 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday-Sunday. Both feature grown-up friendly goodies for sale.
Live music performances are scheduled Saturday-Sunday nights from local bands Full Circle, Crewsade and Rock-n-Roll Prep School, too.
This year’s carnival closes with a huge fireworks display on Sunday at dusk that organizers say is promised to top last year’s show.
Although admission is free, all-day ride bracelets are available for purchase. These cost $23 Thursday-Friday and $25 on Saturday-Sunday. Tickets for individual rides are also available for purchase.
Free parking is available on site. No glass bottles are permitted into the park and coolers brought in may be subject to inspection.
Hours of the carnival and midway are as follows:
- Thursday, July 18: 4-11 p.m.
- Friday, July 19: 4-11:30 p.m.
- Saturday, July 20: noon-midnight
- Sunday, July 21: noon-11:30 p.m.
