HarvestFest Detroit at Robert C. Valade Park in Detroit

Hayrides, pumpkin picking and more fall fun abound Oct. 26, 2019 at Robert C. Valade Park during the annual HarvestFest Detroit event.

Have you hit up a pumpkin patch or apple orchard yet this fall? There’s still plenty of time to get your favorite fall activity in – and, if you’re living in or around Detroit, you won’t have to go very far to get it.

For the fifth year, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is bringing oodles of free fall fun directly to local families at its HarvestFest Detroit event, which happens at Robert C. Valade Park on Saturday Oct. 26, 2019.

This family fun event kicks off at noon with trick-or-treating. Come in costume, get your face painted and then stop by stations set up throughout the park to collect treats and other goodies.

After your treat bags are filled, take a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out your favorite gourd or jump the afternoon away in one of the inflatables set up.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Princesses and superheroes will be making special guest appearances to meet with kids – and there will be pumpkin carving demonstrations, too.

Plus enjoy live musical performances, outdoor Halloween cartoon screenings and plenty of delicious food and drink – including gourmet hot chocolate and cider from Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill in Armada.

This family fun fall event runs noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019. Admission is free and open to the public.
