Want details on the 2012 Highland Games? We've got you covered!

Don your kilts! Families and folks of all ages will gather at Livonia's Historic Greenmead Park for the 192nd annual Highland Games on Saturday, Aug. 6. The fun runs from 8:30 a.m. till 8:30 p.m., and the festivities include music, athletic competitions, Celtic crafts, merch and collectibles.

Just for little ones: The Wee Bairns Kids Area gives them an understanding of Scottish traditions through fun activities – including painting a shield for protection, tossing a wee caber and marching in the Wee Barons' Clan Parade. Best of all: Kids under 12 get in for free! Adult tickets are $15 at the door – but you can still get them in advance for $10. How? See the Metro Parent event listing for the 2011 Highland Games for more information!
