Livonia Bookstock at Laurel Park Place

Media loving families, don't miss it! Books, DVDs, CDs, games and loads more are in store at the annual Livonia Bookstock, April 7-14, 2019.

Is your child a big reader? Treat them to tens of thousands of used books, all under one roof – plus two cool guest writers – at the biggest used-book sale in the region: Livonia Bookstock, which hits Laurel Park Place, April 7-14, 2019.

A bona fide book lover’s paradise, this page-turning event starts with a Sunday pre-sale event that runs 8:15-11 a.m. and costs $20. But after that short time, admission is totally free.

Regular hours are 11 a.m.-6 pm. Sundays and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

In addition to the books up for grabs, you’ll find DVDs, CDs, audio books, magazines, even vinyl records, video cassettes, and computer games. If you’re looking to “stock” up, this is definitely the place to be!

What’ll sort of reads will you find specifically? Just about any genre or category you want, including children’s books, cookbooks, comic books and even some collectables.

Books are priced $.50 to $4 and other media will run you about the same, though magazines are cheaper at just $.25 a pop.

The money funds education and literacy programs in the area and Detroit News columnist, Neal Rubin, and Detriot Public Schools Community District Deputy Superintendent, Alycia Meriweather, serve as honorary event co-chairs this year.
