Make Your Own Finger Paint

Forget pricey finger paint. You and your kids can whip up batches of the stuff – in just about any color! – with items that are probably already in your cupboards or pantry. Experiment to expand your palette, all while pinching pennies and pushing your family’s creative boundaries.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups cold water
2 cups boiling water
Food coloring (assorted)

Directions

1. Mix flour with salt.
2. Add cold water. Stir until smooth
3. Gradually add this mixture to boiling water. Boil until smooth and thick.
4. Add food coloring, then stir until smooth.
Bonus hint: Use freezer paper to paint on, to clip a few most costs!
