Memorial Day Weekend Events in Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor

Pay homage to our fallen soldiers at one of these 2021 Memorial Day weekend events.

Memorial Day means more than just a long weekend. It’s a chance to get out of the house and honor our fallen soldiers.

This year, the weekend is full of ceremonies, services, parades and family fun activities all across Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties, that are sure to provide fun for everyone. Cake on the sunscreen and line the streets to watch a parade in the morning, then grab your cooler for a fun carnival treat later in the day!

Memorial Weekend Skate Day at United Skates of America

May 28-31, 2021

The festivities begin on Friday with a family pajama party with multiple public skates throughout the weekend. Memorial Day offers group discounts and a pizza and pop dinner for the fam for only $20!

Sumpter Township Country Fest in Belleville

May 28-31, 2021

This annual blow out features carnival games, rides, food booths, a car show, bands, demolition derby, kid’s games and the city’s Memorial Day parade.

St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade

May 30, 2021

  • Address: Jefferson Ave., from Nine Mile to 11 Mile Road, St. Clair Shores

The 68th parade’s theme this year is “A Memorial Tribute.”

Annual Memorial Day Service at Resurrection Cemetery

May 31, 2021

Starts off in Section 55 and is followed by a service to dedicate Veterans inscription tablets in the Veterans section of the cemetery.

Auburn Hills Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

The parade begins at Avondale High School and goes to the MOMS Memorial, Webster’s Cemetery and to the Auburn Hills American Legion, where the event ends with a community picnic.

Berkley Memorial Day Ceremony

May 31, 2021

The Memorial Day Ceremony takes place at Berkley’s City Hall. The legion will host a post-ceremony event afterwards.

City of New Baltimore Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown New Baltimore area

The parade route begins at the corner of Maria and Front street and ends at the city of New Baltimore’s City Hall. Children can join the parade with decorated bicycles.

Dearborn Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown Dearborn area

Honor the lives of our fallen soldiers during this annual event.

Hazel Park Memorial Day Ceremony and Bike Parade

May 31, 2021

The event starts with a ceremony at City Hall and ends with a bike ride to Green Acres Park.

Holly Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown Holly area

This annual event begins in downtown Holly and ends at Lakeside Cemetery.

Memorial Day at Zap Zone-Ann Arbor

May 31, 2021

Unlimited play and a two-hour wristband for only $27.

Milford Memorial Day

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Various locations, Milford

The event will take place at local cemeteries and monuments. Flyovers are scheduled to fly over Milford between 11 a.m. and noon. There will not be a parade this year due to current restrictions.

Northville Memorial Day Tribute

May 31, 2021

This event takes place of the traditional Northville Memorial Parade.

Orion Memorial Day Parade and 5K Race

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown Lake Orion area

The 5-mile race begins downtown and takes runners on Paint Creek Trail.

Romeo Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown Romeo area

This annual parade begins at 10:00 a.m.

Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Main and Lincoln Streets, Downtown Royal Oak

Celebrate Memorial Day at this annual procession.

South Lyon Memorial Day Parade

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown South Lyon area

The parade starts at Bartlett Elementary and heads down Ten Mile. It goes through downtown and ends at the South Lyon Cemetery with a ceremony that commemorates the holiday and the veterans that sacrificed their lives.

Troy Memorial Day Ceremony

May 31, 2021

This ceremony will include the raising of the colors by the Troy Police Department Honor Guard and the laying of the Memorial Wreath.

Walled Lake Memorial Day Ceremony

May 31, 2021

  • Address: Downtown Walled Lake area

The ceremony will be in lieu of the parade this year.
