Michigan Elvisfest in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town

Pay tribute to the King and the 42nd anniversary of his death at Michigan Elvisfest in Ypsilanti, July 19-20, 2019.

The King of Rock and Roll is gone, but he has not been forgotten, and while your kids may not be dancing to “Jailhouse Rock” these days, the Michigan Elvisfest is the chance to teach them about a music legend through performances and kids activities.

Join the fun July 19-20, 2019, when the Elvis fans in the metro area head to historic Depot Town in Ypsilanti.

This event promises to be fun for the whole family. There are around a dozen Elvis tribute artists who will perform over the two days, so get down to “Hound Dog” and “Burning Love” with your kids. They’re not just songs from Lilo and Stitch!

In addition to all of the concerts and performers in their sequin jumpsuits, there will be tributes to other artists, such as the Johnny Cash.

And if you get tired of dancing, there are other fun activities as well. Parents can enjoy happy hour at the beer tent, a raffle and plenty of Elvis memorabilia to purchase.

And for the kids, check out the inflatable bouncers, “make it and take it” crafts, stilt walkers, clowns, balloon twisting and more.

Saturday, check out the gospel hour from 2 to 3 p.m. and later, at 10 p.m., join in a special candlelight vigil for the King.

And, don’t forget: If you or your kids want to dress up as Elvis or in your poodle skirt, feel free to join in on the fun!

Admission to the event is $25/Friday, $45/Saturday and free for kids 12 and under. Come enjoy the annual fest with your kids 5 p.m.-midnight Friday (doors at 4 p.m.) and noon-midnight Saturday (doors at 11 a.m.). You might even make little Elvis fans out of them!
