Do you want your child to have fun while learning a bit of Detroit’s history? Head to the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant on Sept. 29, 2019 for the Model T Birthday Celebration.
This historical event kicks off at 10 a.m. and explores the story of Detroit’s own Henry Ford and his work developing the nation’s first affordableautomobile – the Model T.
Car connoisseurs of all ages and interest levels can take a ride in one of these gorgeous historical autos at this event or, if they prefer, look under the hood of classics like Fords, Packards, Buicks and other brands dating up to 1947 on display during the Milwaukee Junction car show.
And the cars aren’t the only draw. There’s also plenty of fun for kids at this year’s new Kid Zone. In it, find all kinds of activities for kids, from lawn games and story readings to book signings, crafts and sweet treats.
There will also be tons of local vendors and food trucks on location selling a wide variety of community eats and Michigan-made items.
The Model T Birthday Celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit. Admission to this event is free and open to all.
