Summer is upon us, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to make fun memories. What better way to bring your family together than with music? Southeast Michigan is full of summertime concerts for you and your family to enjoy.

Sound like the perfect event for you and your crew? Peruse this list to find some of the best music in the park events in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

Once you find the one for you, grab a blanket and head out for an evening of musical memories.

Macomb County

Summer Sounds at The Mall at Partridge Creek

May 27-Sept. 4, 2023 (Fridays-Sundays, Memorial Day and Labor Day)

These weekend shows feature nearly 40 local artists. Make sure to bring a folding camp chair or low-to-the-ground chair since seating is limited.

Sunday Night Concert Series at Lake St. Clair Metropark 

May 28-Sept. 3, 2023 (Sundays)

Bring a chair, or a blanket, and kick back to some fun tunes across multiple genres.

Summer Concert Series at Stony Creek Metropark 

June 9, 23, July 7, 21; Aug. 4 and 18, 2023

Concerts will be held at Eastwood Beach. Bring blankets, chairs and even a picnic to enjoy while listening to fun tunes across multiple genres. For all ages.

Symphony by the Shores at Lake St. Clair Metropark 

June 20-July 18, 2023 (Tuesdays)

Bring a chair, or a blanket, and kick back to beautiful sounds of the symphony at the Thomas Welsh Activity Center.

Music in the Park at Macomb Corners Park 

June 29; July 13, 20, 27; Aug. 3, 2023

There’s a Kid Zone play area, complete with inflatables and games in addition to the live musical performances.

Music and Movies in the Park at the Civic Center

July 12, 19 and 26, 2023

Head to the Civic Center to enjoy pre-show activities, music and an outdoor family-friendly film. July 12 features Interstate 90s and Lightyear. July 19 is Weekend Comeback and The Bad Guys. July 26 is Collision Six and Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Outdoor Concert Series at Brandenburg Park

Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24, 2023

Bring your lawn chairs out for Brandenburg Park’s outdoor concert series. Aug 3 is Sonic Freeway, Aug. 10 is Swift Brothers, Aug. 17 is Meldrum Brothers and Aug. 24 is Bandwagon.

Oakland County 

Friday Night Live Concert Series 

May 26, June 23, July 28 and Aug. 25, 2023

The concerts will take place on the last Friday of the month during the summer. May 26 features Firth & Formost, June 23 features Bernadette Kathryn, July 28 features Bugs Beddow and Aug. 25 features Arthur Littsey & the Detroit Social Club. 

Concerts in the Park at Hess-Hathaway Park 

June 1-29, 2023 (Thursdays)

Enjoy local talent and a featured band at this summer event. Food and beverages are available to purchase. 

Rhythms in Riley Park

June 9-Aug. 25, 2023 (Fridays)

Families can enjoy a free night concert in Downtown Farmington featuring genres such as Country, Rock, Americana, Rockabilly and Blues. Make sure to bring your own chairs and blankets.

Stars in the Park at Heritage Park

June 15-Aug. 17, 2023 (Thursdays)

Enjoy live shows at Heritage Park’s outdoor amphitheater. Shows are about 90 minutes and families are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic dinner.

Concerts in the Park at Depot Park 

June 16-July 21, 2023 (Fridays) 

Celebrating its 40th year, Depot Park boasts Friday night concerts. There will also be kids activities.

Friday Nights Music Series at Riverside Park 

June 23-Aug. 25, 2023 (Fridays) 

Start your weekend off with live music every Friday night at the Knight Amphitheater. See Motown and Bon Jovi tributes.

Summer Sensation Concert Series at Boulan Park

June 29; July 13, 27; Aug. 10, 24, 2023

Come out to Boulan Park on select Thursdays this summer to enjoy a variety of genres. There will be food trucks, too. Gary Greenfelder Orchestra is on June 29, The Backbeats is on July 13, Devin Scillian & Arizona Son is on July 27, Air Margaritaville is on Aug. 10 and Thornetta Davis – Detroit’s Queen of the Blues is on Aug. 24. 

Royal Oak Summer Concert Series at Centennial Commons Park

July 6, 13, 20, 27; Aug. 3, 10, 17, 2023

Families can enjoy a weekly summer concert each week with all types of genres including Blues, Irish-American Rock, Modern Country, Swing and much more.  

Marshbank Music Series at Marshbank Park 

July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2, 2023

Each concert features music from different genres, food trucks and a beer and wine tent. July 12 is Collision Six, July 19 is The Insiders, July 26 is Detroit Retro Society and Aug. 2 is Katmandu. 

Symphony by the Shores at Kensington Metropark

July 15, 2023

Bring a chair, or a blanket, and kick back to some fun tunes by Michigan Philharmonic titled, “Movie Icons & Superheroes.” 

Blue Moon at the Beach Concert at Kensington Metropark

Aug. 26, 2023

Dress in your ‘90s and early 2000s threads and enjoy a night concert by The Persuasion Band. Bring your own chair or blanket. There will also be food trucks, a live astronomy presentation and telescope viewing opportunities.

Washtenaw County

Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights at Palmer Commons 

June 1-July 27, 2023 (Thursdays) 

This music extravaganza offers all kinds of genres of music performed live throughout the summer. For kids, there will be magicians, jugglers, face painters, balloon artists, circus acts, a ‘How-to-Chalk’-themed art stage and more.  

Ann Arbor Civic Band Summer Concert Season at Burns Park 

June 14-July 19, 2023 (Wednesdays) 

See the Ann Arbor Civic Band along with band directors, Dr. J and Nick Smith, at this summer concert series event.

Music & Moves for Kids at Hudson Mills Metropark

Aug. 5, 2023

Families can come out to the park for an afternoon of music, dancing, School of Rock concert, inflatables, face painting, yard games and more. For all ages. 

Wayne County

Music in the Air Concert Series at Kellogg Park

May 26-Sept. 1, 2023 (Fridays) 

See live outdoor musical performances on the Hines Park Lincoln Stage in Kellogg Park throughout the summer. You can drop off your chairs and blankets at 3:30 p.m. on concert days. 

Summer Concert Series in Northville Town Square

June 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 2023

Enjoy acoustic music and big bands performing in downtown Northville this summer. 

Food ‘n’ Tunes at Willow Metropark

June 24, Aug. 19, 2023

Bring a chair, or a blanket, and kick back to some fun tunes at the Pool Activity Area. See The Fox and The Fiddle & Julianne Ankley & the Rogues (country) on June 24 and bands TBD (classic rock) on Aug. 19. There will be a kids zone and food trucks, too.

Thursday Night LIVE Concert Series at Heritage Park

June 29-Aug. 10, 2023 (Thursdays)

Bring your own blanket and chairs to enjoy music and fun at the amphitheater in Heritage Park. A variety of food trucks and Maraschinos Pub will be on site selling snacks, beer and wine.

Tuesdays are Terrific at Heritage Park

July 11-Aug. 8, 2023 (Tuesdays)

Kids are invited to enjoy music, food and fun at Heritage Park. Bring your own blankets or folding chairs while you relax and enjoy the music on the Amphitheater lawn.
