Curious how folks from Slovak countries live? Find out at the 29th annual Slovak Festival, which runs Aug. 23-25, 2019 at Ss. Cyril and Methodist Church in Sterling Heights.
This free family fest kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday, which is also Family Night, with a talent show. Take a seat in the audience and watch as local musicians, singers and dancers compete to prove who has the top talent.
After the talent performances there’ll be live music – and both Slovak and American food.
Even more fun is in store on Saturday and Sunday. Both days feature everything from Slovak folk performers to more live music and food to kids activities including games and a rock climbing wall.
The church will also celebrate mass at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday and offer 50/50 raffles, including a $5,000 parish raffle.
