Are you looking for a kid-friendly St. Paddy’s celebration? Load up your little leprechauns and head to Detroit’s newest greenspace on March 16, 2019 for the St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun Day and Party. This family fun event will feature all kinds of Irish fun and flair at downtown’s Beacon Park.
The family fun kicks off right at 1 p.m. with Irish step performances by O’Hare Irish Dance, Flanagan O’Hare School of Irish Dance, McLaughin’s Alley and The Shannon Irish Dance Academy.
In between these performances, which run about half an hour a piece, kids can play on inflatables, do shamrock crafts and play with the park’s signature oversized games.
Kids aren’t the only ones in for a fun time at this event, though.
From 5 to 10 p.m., the family fun simmers down to make way for some grown-up focused festivities in the warming tent, which has been decked out in festive green and transformed into an Irish pub for this event.
For a charge, adults ages 21-plus can try an array of Irish-inspired beer and craft cocktails and chow down on food from Little Brother Burgers, D Motown Deli and EJ’s Gourmet Street Eats.
A live DJ and Irish dance performances will complete your experience, so don your green garb and enjoy.
The St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun Day and Party kicks off at Beacon Park in Detroit at 1 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Admission to this event is free, though parking fees apply and vary in the lots and garages around the park.
