Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Royal Oak

Get lost in a sea of green and join in some Irish fun at the annual Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14, 2020, in Royal Oak.

Note: This event had been canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Looking for a fun way to get the entire family together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? March 14, 2020 is your lucky day!

Put on your ‘Kiss Me I’m Irish’ T-shirts, go all out with the color green and come out for the 2020 Oakland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Royal Oak.

Presented by the Norman O’Brien Division of Oakland County’s Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority, the parade steps off at 10 a.m. at Royal Oak Middle School on Washington Avenue.

Attendees will be able to line the streets and keep an eye out for the floats and pipers as they march south towards 7th Street. No worries about having trouble spotting all of the fun, as it is set to be one of the largest parades in the county.

Speaking of pipers, these men in kilts will be on site waving an Irish flag and playing traditional tunes. Individuals, families or organizations can sponsor a piper for $200. The parade will be an opportunity to support some of Oakland County’s hardest working local businesses and institutions at a festive celebration of Irish culture and heritage.

Even if you aren’t Irish, stop by to learn more, join in the fun and embrace the St. Paddy’s Day spirit. There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Be sure to get there early to secure a good spot for you and your family to see this procession and make sure to dress for the weather. The parade is free and open to all.
