Stars and Stripes Festival at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi

Celebrate America's independence at the annual Stars and Stripes Festival in Oakland County, set to run June 28-July 4, 2018.

Kick off the holiday weekend with a trip out to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi for the 12th annual Stars and Stripes Festival, June 28-July 4, 2018.

Throughout the weekend, expect plenty of activities for kids to enjoy, such as a petting zoo, craft show and cornhole tournament. Also, check out all the carnival rides on the fair grounds. Thursday is Family Day, which means half-off wristbands.

A big draw for this event is the live entertainment. Many shows are in the line-up, including the Shell Camino monster truck rides and the Shell Camino Car Crush Demolition Demonstration.

There are also a slew of local bands performing, as well as some bigger names like Buckcherry and Alien Ant Farm on Saturday. Bonus: all of the concerts are free!

And around dusk on Tuesday, catch the fireworks. This will be a great way to celebrate Independence Day and close out the fest.

The fair itself is free, but additional fees apply for other activities, like $25/ride wristbands. Concerts are also free, but VIP tickets are available for $35.

On site parking is available for $10. Festival hours are as follows:

  • 2-11 p.m. Thursday and Monday
  • 2-11:30 p.m. Friday
  • noon-11:30 p.m. Saturday
  • noon-11 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday
  • noon-10 p.m. Wednesday
