Wayne County Halloween Festival at Nankin Mills Park in Westland

The spookiest time of the year is here. Celebrate it with traditional fall fun and goodies at the Wayne County Halloween Festival in Westland on Oct. 12, 2019.

Halloween is nigh – and that means your little ghosties are likely ravenous for candy and spooktacular fun. Give wee goblins a little of what they crave ahead of the big night at the Wayne County Halloween Festival, which happens at Nankin Mills Park in Westland on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019.

The October festival kicks off at 1 p.m. with a costume parade. Despite the name, costumes are totally optional for kids – though it is the perfect time for them to go big and show off their freaky flair.

Live entertainment picks up at 1:15 p.m. with the performances by Dyno Mike the Magician and continues at 2 p.m. with the Joe Chasney Juggling Show. Be sure to arrive on time to get your kids a front row seat to all the kooky antics.

And of course, what would any Halloween celebration be without a little trick-or-treating? Bring a bag or bucket and make your rounds to gather candy and other treats that have been generously provided by local businesses and organizations,

But that’s not all. Hayrides and festive fall games happen throughout the day, too, so even if your kiddo isn’t the goulish type, there’s sure to be something for him or her to enjoy.

The Wayne County Halloween Festival runs 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, in and around the Nankin Mills Park area. The festival is free to attend and all are welcome.
