Birmingham Winter Markt

It's the Oakland County holiday celebration you won't want to miss. Join in on the festivities at the Birmingham Winter Markt, Dec. 6-8, 2019.

The ninth annual Birmingham Winter Markt allows families to experience the holidays Bavarian style with food, entertainment, activities and much more Dec. 6-8, 2019 at Shain Park.

Enjoy arts and crafts, live entertainment, ice carving demonstrations and reindeer, too. If you’re hungry, try out European food and drinks, including traditional German fare.

Get toasty at a warming station before taking the kids to the Kinderhaus children’s activity area, running each day of the event. Stop by the vendor stations for traditional holiday crafts and decorations, art from local artists, holiday greens and food products.

You’re invited and welcome to visit Santa and his popular house, too, 5-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

There will also be musical performances by local school choirs throughout the weekend and a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Need a ride? A horse-drawn carriage awaits you 5-9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free, and times for the event are as follows:

  • Friday: 4-9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
