Check out these shops perfect for kids who are into comics and collectibles.

Whether you’re celebrating Free Comic Book Day or your child is into graphic novels or anything superheroes, you’ll want to check out these comic book stores in metro Detroit.

Most of the stores also buy back comics and other items so if you’re doing some purging this holiday season, you’re in luck. You can even sign up for memberships or subscriptions at most of these locations that will have you looking like the “cool parent” getting new comics first.

2nd & Charles

This store was voted America’s #1 Best Bookstore by Newsweek. Buy or sell your used books, music, vinyl, comics and collectibles.

9planets comics and collectibles

This comic book store is your home for comic books, Funko Pops, wrestling, action figures, horror figures and collectibles and more.

Adventure, Ink

A To Z Cards Comics Coins

This store has been around for more than 25 years. It sells graphic novels, action figures, trade paperbacks, sports and collector cards and coins. Every Sunday, it hosts a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament at 12:30 p.m. that costs $5 to enter.

Big Ben’s Comix Oasis

This comics and collectibles store features graded comics, Funko products, Pokemon, Marvel Toys, DC Toys and other toys and action figures. If you’re looking to sell some items, call them at 313-382-0700. You can receive cash or store credit for your sold items.

GOB Retail

It’s Michigan’s largest game and comic book store featuring 7,900 square feet with 199,090 games, comics and collectibles. It also features a large open gaming space. You can purchase items in-store or online.

Gotham Night Comics

This neighborhood comic book store offers the largest selection of action figures around. It also features collectibles, comic books including Marvel comics and DC comics.

Green Brain Comics

This comic book store is family-owned and operated. It features comics, Manga, graphic novels, hardcovers, apparel, action figures and statues, role-playing games, puzzles and more. Check out the free, monthly program, Brain Candy. It features a live program of music, prose, poetry and visual art curated by the Emerging Writers Network.

J&T Comics
