Water parks aren’t just for hot summer weather! Since we get way more cold days than warm ones here in Michigan, having water parks that are open all year round is pretty awesome for families looking for a fun break from the bitter cold.

We’ve got the scoop on some splash-tastic spots for families. Keep it chill and budget-friendly with some local spots around Metro Detroit, or hit the road for a bigger adventure at an indoor park that’s totally worth the trip.

Macomb Township Recreation Center Pools

  • Address: 20699 Macomb St., Macomb Township
  • Day pass: $8/residents, $16/non-residents

Plunge into two pools, featuring a water slide, lazy river and more. Kids can sign up for swim lessons, too.

Romulus Aquatic Center 

  • Address: 35765 Northline Road, Romulus
  • Day pass: $10/residents, $15/non-residents

Little ones can enjoy the Splash Pool, which is zero-depth entry for easy access to play on the structure. There’s also a lazy river, a two-story twisting water slide, lap pool and hot tub.

Splash Universe

  • Address: 100 Whitetail Drive, Dundee
  • Day pass: $40/Wednesday-Thursday, $50/Friday-Saturday and holidays

This two-story water park features tube slides, a lazy river, tree house, log walk, family spa and an arcade with hourly fun.

Summit Aquatic Center at Summit on the Park

  • Address: 46000 Summit Pkwy., Canton
  • Day pass: $8/resident adults, $16/non-resident adults; $7/resident children 12-17, $14/non-resident children 12-17; $6/resident children 4-11, $12/non-resident children 4-11; $7/resident seniors 55+, $14/non-resident seniors 55+

This aquatic center in Canton features new pool tile, a lazy river, twisting slide, kids’ play area, lap pool, spa, and fitness classes.

Troy Community Center Indoor Pool

  • Address: 3179 Livernois Road, Troy
  • Day pass: $10/residents, $15/non-residents

This indoor pool is open year-round and is available to those with a membership or daily pass. It offer slides, swimming lanes, kiddie water features and more.

Warren Community Center Water Park 

  • Address: 5460 Arden Ave., Warren
  • Day pass: $5/youth, $10/adults. Day passes are available for Warren and Sterling Heights residents only.
  • Monthly membership: $50/household
  • Annual membership: $480/household

Want an indoor water park near Detroit? Try this tropical spot. It’s got the biggest indoor enclosed water slides in Michigan! There’s also a lazy river and 300-gallon tipping bucket attached to a play structure that’s “a jungle gym in a foot of water,” Plus find a hot tub (15-plus) and sauna (18-plus).
