Pizza4Dessert is the Ultimate New Year’s Indulgence

Try this dessert take on pizza for a unique sweet treat at Pizza4Dessert, based out of local bakery Trifles in West Bloomfield.

Want a (slightly) healthier little treat? Try Pizza4Dessert. With 20 sweet options at $2.50 a slice, this unique West Bloomfield find is an easy sell, owner Gwen Borders says.

“Definitely, I saw the end of the cupcake trend,” says Borders, whose niche business, which she runs out of her bakery Trifles, just turned three years old. “It’s a reduced portion kind of thing. Instead of a whole piece of pie, because it’s flat, you’re getting all that great stuff on one wedge.”

A flaky dough crust is topped with flavors like Dutch apple, brownie, key lime and red velvet. “I’m marrying traditional flavors that are familiar to people with the concept of pizza.” Here are her top picks to get your year off to a sweet start.

Matcha Tea, $22

Flaky pastry crust, tea-infused cheese, dark chocolate shavings, slivered almonds. “Unique flavors – and it goes so well with coffee and tea.”

Brownie, $20

Brownie crust, golden brownie cheese, chocolate streusel and sauces. “Nobody will be disappointed.”

Fresh Fruit, $24

Flaky pastry crust, sweet cream cheese, fresh berries, kiwi, white chocolate curls. “Always hands-down the most beautiful and delicious pizza.”
