Do glass slippers and a golden pumpkin carriage star in your child’s favorite fairy tale? Would your son or daughter love the chance to see the whole story come to life on stage?
If so, we have good news: It’s possible!
That’s because Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is coming to the Detroit Opera House this month, bringing the much-loved Broadway musical to a stage close to home on select days from Feb. 16-Feb. 28, 2016.
This “contemporary take” on the classic story features the characters and elements families know and love, plus some new twists, according to the Michigan Opera Theatre.
Open to ages 5 and older, the family-friendly production includes an orchestra and favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein’s songs such as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Impossible/It’s Possible.”
Tickets are priced between $35-$89. Showtimes are as follows:
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16-Friday, Feb. 19
- 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20
- 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23-Friday, Feb. 26
- 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27
- 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28
